Proposal - Open Community Rewards Application(OCRA)

What

Open Community Rewards Application(OCRA) is a community rewards mechanism. It allows any community members to apply reward for those contributions to DAOSquare. Contributions include:

  • Translate content for DAOSquare.
  • Design some meme for DAOSquare.
  • Community management as a Mod.
  • Help community members to handle any problem about DAOSuqare.
  • Shill DAOSquare in any public space.
  • Active participation in community discussions.
  • Any other contributions you did.

Why

Just like the concept of DKP, any contributor can feel free to contribute to the community and get rewards (benefits and rights), not needing permission from the - team - . But we know,

  • Many contributions are not on-chain, DKP can’t reward them automatically.
  • Many contributions are difficult to quantify.

So we need a mechanism to collect those contributions from the community and quantify to DKP for them. There are two ways to realize it:

  • Guild or Community Cafeteria to collect and quantify.
  • Contributors apply the proposals.

Obviously, the second way is better. We called it Open Community Rewards Application(OCRA). The advantage of OCRA is,

  • More fair
  • More open
  • Less coordination

How

  • Contributors submit a OCRA proposal in #ocra space in our forum, including contribution info, reward style, reward amount.
  • Community Cafeteria and Guild collects and evaluates these proposals weekly.
  • Contributors claim rewards on the claim page.

我觉得对于贡献的奖励标准是需要由社区来确定的。每个贡献都由贡献者自己定价,实际会非常耗时耗力。比如不同的翻译文章,价值差别不会太大;社区管理员定期发工资;社区内的互助可以通过 bot 运行一个感谢/点赞系统;对于确实独特的贡献再以单独的提案进行奖励足够了。

谢谢你的建议!我们这几天的讨论中也涉及到了参考标准的问题。结论是:

首先,我们会在本周内提交一个目前在执行的一些参考标准,但是他们不能概括全貌。具体的标准规范我们希望:

1 - 与社区一同制定贡献参考标准
2 - 从实践中一起探索标准,这样可能更合理

另外,关于提案是否必要的问题,我们希望它不是一个发工资的行为,例如目前的社区管理员,均是出于对 DAOSquare 的热情自愿帮忙的,奖励或许比工资更为合适,因为这样大家会更舒适,不会因为工资而感到压力。总之,我们希望营造一个自主贡献、自主获取奖励和权益的自驱循环,这是我们的核心目标。当我们在考虑效率的时候,或许当我们不再受效率所困的时候,效率才会真正体现出来。

如果配套参考标准,那实施起来会顺利许多。既然有参考标准,那不如再确定一个集中提交贡献兑现申请的时间,比如每个月或者每季的最后几天,这样方便大家共同见证和审议,不然今天一个文章、明天一个最有价值会员,会眼花缭乱。

社区管理员(emilyZh、Harvey 等)得承担明确的社区运维工作,还是以工资的形式比较合适。不然的话也算不上是管理员吧,只是热心会员,可以通过核算收集到的感谢类表情或 bot 感谢命令数来确定奖励。

另外,例如当前这个提案,最终如何决策并通过,是个什么样的流程?

1 - 有一些成员是 Guild 的成员或者正在实习的 Guild 成员,为了高效推进工作,这些是直接通过月薪的方式发放的
2 - 提案提交周期,我们之前的讨论是任何一天都可以提交,但是社区食堂只会在固定的时间,例如月底的某几天来处理这些提案
3 - 提案的决策流程需要确定一下,我这几天起草一个!
